Allenstown, New Hampshire
August 20th, 2007

Aim High Youth Day will take place at Camp Bearbrook (the 4-H Camp in Allenstown, NH) on Monday, August 20th from 8am to 4pm.  It's an event for learning about technology and science, primarily focused on aviation science.  The day will kick off with an opening ceremony, then the rest of the day will be filled with displays, presentations, and demonstrations.

Much of the day's events a Boy Scout can count towards his aviation badge.

Aim High Youth Day Events:

John Klatt, an acrobatic pilot, will be there in his full gear ensemble and with a display to talk about acrobatic flying.  A member of the UNH Cooperative Extension will spend time teaching the youth how to land navigate using GPS equipment.  The Aircrew Life Support section from the NH Air National Guard will display all the different life support equipment aircrews use in flight and demonstrate how they function.  At another station the youth will be able to create cards that will be mailed to airmen deployed overseas.  UNH Cooperative Extension will have a station where they can create model airplanes out of balsa wood.

First Robotics will bring a robotics display and high school team of First Robotics students to talk about the robots they've created.  A B-17 pilot will share his story of being shot down in World War II.  An F-22 engineer, bringing a large F-22 model, will talk about the history of aviation.  In addition to all this, there will be several other stationary displays, such as the F-22 OC Chopper tribute motorcycle.  We'll even have the Air Force Afterburner rock band playing during lunch!
