SPECTATOR SAFETY GUIDELINES

For Your Safety

We are thrilled you, your friends and your family will be attending the Air Force Week New England – Wings of Hope Air Show.  We will do everything possible to ensure your Air Show experience is safe and enjoyable. Every effort will be made to minimize delays in entering and leaving the Air Show.">

We ask for your cooperation in keeping potentially dangerous items safely outside the Air Show.  At the entry point to the Air Show, ALL bags will be quickly inspected and all individuals are subject to search prior to entering.  To speed up the process, there will be multiple checkpoints at the entrance to alleviate wait times. Large bags, large backpacks, large ice chests and coolers will not be permitted. It is recommended spectators minimize the number and size of permitted items to reduce the inspection time prior to access into the Air Show.

Handicapped Accessible Parking
There will be approximately 275 parking spaces reservced for Handicapped parking at the end of the main parking lot (North Ramp) closest to the displays.  You need to have a legal placard or decal and the disabled person must be the passenger. The fee for parking is $20 per vehicle.  Handicapped accessible toilet facilities are also available.  Please note that the airshow displays are spread out over a large area.

Smoking
For safety and health reasons, the Air Force Week – Wings of Hope Air Show is a non-smoking environment; smoking will not be permitted within the gates of the show. 

Prohibited items

The following items will not be permitted at the Air Show and are subject to confiscation:
  • Weapons (regardless of permit) including:
    • Firearms
    • Knives (including pocket knives and multi-tools)
    • Replica or toy weapons
    • Pepper spray or stun guns
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Ice chests or coolers larger than 14” in any dimension
  • Pets, other than service animals
  • Glass containers
  • Bicycles, roller skates, roller blades, scooters, skateboards, wheeled shoes, or Segway-style human transporters
  • Any backpacks/bags larger than 14”x14”
  • Fireworks
  • Laser pointers

Permitted items
The following items are permitted at the Air Show. All permitted items will be inspected prior to admission.  It is strongly recommended spectators minimize the number and size of permitted items to reduce access time into the Air Show.

  • Children's wagons (non-motorized) and strollers
  • Small or medium (hand carried) ice chests or coolers – 14” or smaller in all dimensions
  • Backpacks/bags/purses/fanny packs/diaper bags – 14” or smaller in all dimensions
  • PCS/cellular phones, pagers and FRS transceivers
  • Handheld portable televisions, radios and VHF scanners
    • Interference with a government communications system, such as the FAA air traffic control or air navigation systems, is a federal felony and violators can be punished under the federal criminal code.  If a Federal court finds that you have willfully and knowingly violated any provision of the Communications Act, you may be fined up to $10,000, or you may be imprisoned for 1 year, or Both (See Section 501 of the Communications Act).
  • Food and beverages (non-alcoholic)
  • Cameras and camcorders
  • Folding chairs and lawn chairs
  • Umbrellas
  • Wheelchairs

Please note

  • Unattended bags and packages will be removed from the premises
  • Neither strollers nor wheelchairs will be available for rent at the Air Show
  • Sun protection, including hat, long-sleeved shirts and long pants and sun screen are recommended
  • Water will be available throughout the Air Show area
  • Wear comfortable footgear; the flight line is paved and you may walk long distances
